Overview
DropMail is designed to protect your privacy. We collect the absolute minimum data necessary to operate the service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how.
Information We Collect
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use DropMail. The temporary email address generated during your session is created randomly and is not linked to your identity in any way.
We may collect the following through our infrastructure and analytics providers:
- Anonymous usage statistics (page views, session duration) via Google Analytics
- Standard server logs including IP addresses — these are rotated and not linked to email addresses
- Cookies required for basic functionality (theme preference, session state)
Temporary Email Messages
Messages received in your temporary inbox are retrieved directly from third-party email API providers (1secmail, mail.tm). We do not store copies of your received emails on our servers beyond the current browser session. When you close your browser or generate a new email address, the connection to that inbox is lost.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- theme — stores your dark/light mode preference (localStorage, never sent to server)
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage tracking (_ga, _gid)
- Google AdSense — advertising cookies managed by Google
Third-Party Services
Our service relies on the following third-party APIs, each with their own privacy policies:
- 1secmail.com — temporary email delivery
- mail.tm — temporary email delivery
- ipapi.co — IP geolocation (anonymous lookups)
- randomuser.me — fake identity generation
- api.qrserver.com — QR code generation
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect minimal personal data, there is typically nothing to access or delete. For any requests, contact legal@dropmail.io.
Children's Privacy
DropMail is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be noted with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
